This smart converter charger converts AC shore power into DC power and uses the Charge Wizard multistage charging system to charge your battery bank. If your RV already has a stock converter charger, it will need to be removed to ensure this unit operates properly.
Using the built-in Charge Wizard, the converter charger automatically switches voltages while the battery bank charges. This accelerates the charge, but also helps extend battery life by adjusting the voltage during the different modes. This charger is compatible with flooded lead acid, AGM, and gel batteries.
Charging Modes
The system includes a number of safety features. It has a reverse polarity protection that will protect the converter if the battery is hooked up incorrectly. Additionally, the unit includes protection for overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent, which can damage your equipment, as well as the converter. It also has GFCI protection that shuts off power when there is a current imbalance. The built-in cooling fan also removes excess heat from the unit. The fan speed is proportional to the internal temperature on the converter, so when the power demand is low, the fan will operate quietly.
The Converter Status Remote Pendant monitors the converter's charging status. It also allows you to manually override the charge process to verify the unit is operating properly. The pendant uses a flashing green LED to indicate what charging mode is active. It easily connects to the converter's accessory port with the attached cable.
The converter mounts horizontally inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. However, as long as the unit has sufficient ventilation, it can also be mounted vertically. The mounting hardware is not included.
The DC output terminals wire to the battery bank. The AC in cord plugs into a 120V 3-wire grounded source.

Installation of PD9260C into Parallax 7300 power distribution panel
I purchased the Progressive Dynamics PD9260 to replace the power converter in my 2007 Airstream. My trailer had a Parallax7300 power distribution and power converter (AC to DC) installed from Airstream. I decided to replace just the power converter after it had failed. The PD9260C fit perfectly where the previous converter was installed with very little modification or effort.
I simply removed the older converter, removed some standoffs where the previous converters circuit board was mounted along with the old fan, and then drilled some holes to mount the PD9260 in the mounting tray of the old unit. I wired the new converter to the existing connections and tried it out. Everything worked as expected.
I purchased the Progressive Dynamics PD9200 to replace a failing OEM converter. The unit is wider than the original but with some minor wood work I was able to install it in the original location. As soon as I powered it up all of our problems in the 2018 Forest River 5th wheel vanished. Our main issue was flickering LEDs which drove us crazy. Time will tell if this is a quality product. etrailer is amazing to work with. The item arrived ahead of the estimated delivery date. It was packaged in the original box so the serial number on the unit matched the number on the box. No fear of counterfeit items from these folks.
Was a direct replacement for the one in our 2003 vacationer. No problems after using it for a year

Probably some of the best value for my money for making my RV better. The original converter killed 6 batteries before I figured out that it was over charging at a rate of 16+ volts. The Wizard does its blinking thing and
i am confident that my batteries will make it thru a couple of years.

The series 9200 Inteli-Power charger is replacing a worn out series 7700, 55 amp Parallax inverter in the Airstream motor home. When I originally ordered another 7700 Parallax from a well-known web site, I received a completely different unit that was listed for less than half of what I paid, without explanation or a refund. I sent it back and went right to etrailer, which is what I should have done in the first place. I was told that the unit was in back order and was offered a substitute if I didn’t want to wait. I decided to wait, and wtrailer filled the order in a couple of days. The charger is a multi-purpose, high-quality item; well worth the (short) wait. Comes with good instructions. Very easy to mount.
Cooked my OEM converter on my new 5er due to home electrical install polarity error. Fixed the pedestal but converter is done. Researched replacement models and chose the PD9260C due to good reviews, the 3 prong corded plug (I'm not ready for direct panel wiring yet) and the ability to upgrade to AGM batteries. Received in 3 days.
Pros: Very easy to install - basically a drop in replacement. No issues, only extras needed was an 8 ga copper ground jumper wire and oversized wire nut. Started up immediately, battery showing 13.49VDC consistently.
Cons: 1) Not packed very well, minimal amount of crumpled paper as padding, no internal packaging box. Shipped by USPS. I have chronic issues with USPS and packages as they refuse to leave at door and (literally) drop them on the ground in front of my mailbox. I was waiting for a quick delivery and got to it right away but a bottom attachment flange was dented - fixed with my Leatherman. I hate USPS.
2) Unit shipped bare - no internal box, no papers included with unit. Is it truly new? Returned and refurbished? Who knows.
3) The link to the installation manual on the product page (not that you need one) has consistently returned a 404 error - you'd think they'd monitor broken links better.

After a year of ownership, I continue to be very happy with the Progressive Dynamics RV Converter. In particular, the multi-stage charging feature keeps my battery much healthier. Highly recommended!

I installed this converter around a year ago. Its very quiet..it has taken away my worrying about my battery. It also allowed for me to add some additional outlets. Was well worth the money.
The item arrived on time which is always nice. I got advice from etrailer on which unit to get with an explanation as to why also a good thing. The install was easy. I am impressed with the units functionality and the fact it makes no noise at all. I would recommend both the unit and etrailer.
The part was exactly what I needed. The only negative is that paying for 2 day shipping gets it delivered in 5 days. However, I believe this is an UPS issue (as the tracking showed the part sitting in Kentucky over the weekend.

Initially I received the converter charger and did the hook up myself. It has good instructions easy to follow and I could call the company and talk to an expert for advice. I found the phone call to be a extremely valuable. After consulting with engineering I received free of charge a pigtail and control to boost into high voltage charging. Another very valuable item to me. I have been monitoring the voltage quite often with extreamly good results. I have Told many of my friendsThey should get one of these and it house my complete seal of approval. ( Thank you progressive a good job well done)
